Re: Seat Cushion Install (koni9)
I have spent about two hours trying to get my new backs installed with nothing accomplished except bleeding all over my new leather. Ecklers said "oh just take a screwdriver and they snap right in"......BULL**IT! Let me know if you have any better luck.....I gave up for now....the neighbors called the cops and said some crazy man was screaming and cussing in my garage..... :cuss

I had to use a screwdriver also, BUT I had them on the floor of my living room and I unbolted their hinges so I could do each one separately. For the seat backs, I popped one side in and then crawled inside and with my body weight holding it steady, I used a screwdriver to pry the other rod into it's holding bracket on the seat back. They are kinda tricky because they not only have to go in from the side, but they must also slide up slightly to go with the sloping contour of the seat back. What I did to make it a little easier was to grind a V-notch into the end of my screwdriver to aid in pushing the bar into the retainer. Hope this helps.

I went to the local crap store and bought a cheap long straight blade. This thing is about 18" long. Then I put a "V" notch into the blade....not to deep....just enough to keep it from sliding off. Then I just pushed like hell...using all all my body weight. it worked after like 6 times.
