My car has the brushed look. I bought the car in Sept. 77 right when the 78's came out so it was not quite a year old and less than 12k miles. Soon after I got a letter for a re-call to bring in the car for a change. When I got there and found out it was a safety thing Ralph Nader dreamed up I told them I didn't have time to wait and I'd be back.
Ain't been back yet!!!! Didn't really want to change!!
The tele lock ring was painted, not brushed.
