Default Dash Pads-Are They All The Same

I have new lower dash pads for my vette. I was going to transfer all the hardware over to the new pad but found out they are different. The mounting points for the lower part of the speedo are in a different place. Anyone else run into this? They are listed in the catalog as 68-77 as one part number. What gives here?

I don't think it has anything to do with the color of my hood, but I could be wrong.

68 has to be different to the rest. It has the ignition in the dash!
Just a lazy parts maker thinking one size fits all.
I get that all the time with 68 bits. The rear console section usually doesn't fit because the pockets are in the wrong place.
When you order something you have to take their word it is correct and when it doesn't fit it costs you dollars to send it back across the Pacific.
My rant is over.

LH side: 68 is by itself-key in dash, 69 has a different grain than 70 and 71-73 (and 74-76 w/o A/C). 74-76 w/ A/C have a lap vent in the LH pad.

RH side is easier: 68, 69, 70, 71-76. All should physically interchange, but there are differences in grain and stiching.

Eddie,
I replaced my lower driver dash pad last year and didn't have any issues. I purchased it from Corvette America. Where dd you get yours?

Brad, I got it from Corvette America. It says 70 on the box, but it is not the same dash pad as the one in my car. The lower speedo mount is off to the side instead of in the center. I wonder should I still use it or try to return it for another. I have had it setting in the corner of my den for about 3 or 4 months.
