Default Headers versus stock manifolds for BB

My current block hugger style headers (Sanderson) are hitting on the steering box and on the pass side as well. They are jet hot coated and its wearing off at those two points. Any suggestions on headers that will fit better and how about stock BB cast iron manifolds. Is there a big difference in the performance going from stock to headers?

There is a big difference between cast iron manifolds and headers. I have 2 inch heddman headers for at least 14 - 15 years and they fit fine, don't hit anywhere and easy to remove/install. I take them out probably every 2 years for some reason and they fall out.
I have no complaints at all with Hedman.

Now, now, the cast iron manifolds prolly are the most efficient made and are not that bad handling the breathing for BBC. Don't forget these exhaust manifolds were on the L-88's and ZL-1 motors and ran mid 11's to high 10's.
