Default Transmission needs upgrading

HI guys, need a little input . I have a 1978 corvette with a ar racing 406/475 horse engine in it. I just put a 4.11 rear end from van steel in. Now here comes my question, what TH350 transmission to use ? Also what converter? I leaning toward a 2400 rpm holeshot converter and B&M TH350 transmission. what do you think , I can use all the help I can get . THANKS!!!!

B&M rates their transmissions to 450hp/tq,and I'm sure your close if not over that.To determine the stall speed, you need to be honest with the intended use of the car,and match it to the car(cam, intake, gears and tires)or you will either sacrifice performance,or end up unhappy with how it drives.

I'm in the market right now, after blowing a 700r4 that was rated at 600hp with my 406,so I've been doing my homework.I have a local shop that wants to see the damage to my 700r4 before we proceed, but most everybody I've talked to recommends a built TH350 or TH400,and a stall under 3000 for the street.
