Air Conditioning Problem!!!!!
I seem to have broke off a hose somehow. I think it is the compressor hose that comes from up by the firewall. The hose is then cast onto a plate which screws into the compressor, it is all one piece. Like I said I think it is the compressor, still new at this. Any help on this matter would be helpful. 1980 model

Yep, that's the compressor. You'll most likely have to replace that enire piece (the aluminum attachment, and both hoses). Then have it recharged. They are about 100 bucks.
For right now cover the broken sides with duct tape so no dirt gets in there.

Also make sure it is covered tight. besides dirt, the dryer will absorb moisture from the atmosphere. If it does that it will have to be replaced. Haven't changed one on a vette but have on other GM vehicles, about $90, but you know how it goes if you ask for a part for a vette it is usually double
