I picked up these seat covers at Carlisle last summer for a very good price: $75.00. The leather is 99% and there are no rips, tears or even signs of normal wear. They came from a car whose owner simply decided to change the colour of his anterior.
But being **** retentive re projects I do have one concern. The second pic shows how some areas of the paper trim/burlap edging has separated from the stitching to the leather. What is the purpose of the paper/burlap? Is this a matter that will affect the finished look? These darn things run about $400.00 in leather and I would sure hope to use these covers if at all possible.
Paul..this is just a guess, but is the burlap/paper located along the "piping" edges the joins two pieces of material. If so, this could be a reinforcement technique done at the factory where ever the seats were manufactured. Just a guess..hope is makes some sense. I hope I am right..if I am ..will you come pick me up for a ride when you get them installed!!! :jester
In the absence of further opinion I have reached the conclusion that the small clamps/clips grab on those areas. If yes I will just secure them - and make my usual mess - with contact cement.

Your right...the S clips grab that and secure it to the frame.
