The parking brake lever has been damaged (or something) and is now rubbing against the rotor. Nice loud noise, eh! How hard is it to pull the hub off? Take off the caliper, pull off the half-shaft - then what? Pics would be most appreciated. One day job? Should I do my wheel bearings while I'm at it?
You should be able to remove the parking brake lever without pulling much more than the caliper. Of course you'll have to release the tension on the cable. As for barings the rear are not like the front. This the rear bearings are huge job on the vette. Great info in the archives if ya do a search.
Good luck.

If the hub has not been off before, you'll have to drill out 5 rivits which were done at the factory to facilitate assembly. This is a lot easier to do with the swing arm off the car. If you pull the wheel and see rivits, your looking at a weekends worth of work.
You only need to pull of the rotor to get to all the e-brake stuff. Like they said, if you see rivets they need to be drilled out. Rotor *should* come off (spent 2 hours trying to pry off a rusted one), no need to disconnect halfshafts.
Just did this last week (drilled rivets/rotor removal, that it), and got a helpful tip here...the rotor will probably be rusted on, and prying could take FOREVER...so grab a rubber mallet and give the rotor a few sharp whacks, and it will pop loose in about 10 seconds.
