Anyone familiar with the Automack brand car cover that sells on e-bay? It sells for about $40 plus $15 shipping. Need one for a '78 vette with new SA paint. Not a bad price but don't want to scratch the paint. Don't really need a high dollar cover because the car is kept in garage most of the time. Just want to keep the dust off.
I looked at theirs (Automack) but ended up buying one from MFK Enterprises (also on ebay) which I believe was the same, just a couple of bucks cheaper. ($38 +15 s&h)
It's a OK cover for the price and much better than the "fitted bed sheet" the previous owner provided with the car. (Not really a bedsheet but the material and workmanship reminded me of one) Even though the new one was advertised as "custom" for a 75 vette, it is not really fitted as advertised. A bit big and baggy on the sides and not contoured at all from the roof to the hood or the rear deck. However for covering the vette while it is in storage in the garage for the winter, it will do. The one I bought a couple years ago for the Camaro was way better, but it also cost 4-5x as much. Guess you don't get what you don't pay for.
As far as how it will be on your paint, the cover is not exactly flannel soft but if your careful when putting it on and taking it off, you should be OK. But then again if you have a nice paint job and want to be sure and keep it that way, spent a bit more and get a better quality cover. FWIW.
