Just saw your website in your sig. Fantastic set-up

1) Can you tell me how you fit these rear tires into your fenders?
2) What stops them from rubbing fenders?
3) 295 / 50s in the rear? What size rims and backspacing?
4) offset TAs ?
5) Fronts look a little shorter. Are they 265/50s?

Best Regards, Brent...

1) Can you tell me how you fit these rear tires into your fenders? remove e-cable bracket and grind smooth. You may have to take a hand sledge and ever so slightly knock in the trailing arm to avoid contact with tire sidewall. The rims are 10" with 5" backspace. You need to dial in a little negative camber for the top of the tire not to stick out of the fender.
2) What stops them from rubbing fenders? i also have a 5 leaf spring that keeps the tires from bottoming. And the camber must be just right to avoid contact with fender lip or the other side (inside body)
3) 295 / 50s in the rear? What size rims and backspacing? 10 inch rallys with 5" backspace
4) offset TAs ? not required
5) Fronts look a little shorter. Are they 265/50s? fronts are the same size on the original 8" rallys. The 10" inch rims contact the steering arm on the front.

dont really recommend the BFGs there are several other manufacturers of 295/50s

Best Regards, Brent...

Turtle
Thanks for the info. I almost cant beleive that you have 295s all around

Ive been looking for ways to set-up my 82. Your set-up sounds 100% track oriented and looks like you like to exercise it!!

I forgot to mention to fit the 295/50s on front i had to trim a little on the forward leading edge of front wheelwells - 1/4 inch max. With your 82 i don't think you would even need to do that because they are a little bigger with the big urethane front section.

My next goal is to get Goodyear Eagle Nascar style slicks to fit. I have fitted the 27/10/15s (they measure 12.5 inches wide) on back but they are just too big on the front. I think 27/8/15s might go.

How close to full-lock can you get before you rub the frame?

Thanks,
Chris

I'm making some pretty drastic changes to my '69 but I'm putting 25.4" tall, 12" tread, 13" section, 16" rim slicks on all four corners.

pretty close turning radius has not been a problem. I used to parallel park with those tires all the time.

You can see the shiny rub marks on the frame.
