Default (OT) Diff between Vette show classes?

Can someone tell me the general meanings of and the differences between these classes in Corvette shows:

CONCOURS PREPARED
STREET SHOW
RACE PREPARED
EXHIBITION
MODIFIED
WASH & SHOW
CUSTOM

I kinda know what some of them mean, but I can't locate a reference to their exact definitions anywhere on the Net. I guess it's assumed if you enter your car in shows, you've been doing it for a long time therefore you must know, but hey, I'm new, so will someone explain these or give me a link to a place that does? :chevy

Never heard of these classes in a show. I tell you what, though...I wouldn't enter a show like that. People take shows too seriously to start with, but a show with classes like that is gonna be as competitive as Texas cheerleader moms

That "is" confusing but I'll try my best.......

CONCOURS PREPARED - Most likely an NCRS type originality scores highest
STREET SHOW - Not trailered....but clean with slight mods
RACE PREPARED - Race cars from the strip (tubbed, etc.)
EXHIBITION - Open class
MODIFIED - Those that aren't race cars but too radical for 'street show'
WASH & SHOW - Amateur category for those who aren't worried about detailing
CUSTOM - Tricked-out paint, major mods, nothing original about the car.....and it probably involves mirrors to show off the frame

Personally I've never seen this many categories either.
Usually it's just Original 1959-1969 and Modified 1959-1969.....

How much is the entry fee & how many trophies ?!?

These categories sound like NCCC to me, Judging impact regional and national points standings. CONCOURS PREPARED - this is the most serious, all aspests of your car are judged and scored, engine comp, int, exterior, and wheels; these are usually restored older cars or clean original cars. Wash and show is common category for auto cross participants, they, cars are mainly entered for the points (hood remains closed for example). the other classes are self explanitory. NCCC judging is often a part of a larger event that includes auto cross and drags; in the case of our club we do not have a public show after the cars are judged.

This is a lot different then going to a show at a local drive in and voting on each others car. Different kind of fun, but still a fun event. I hope this helps.

It's a pretty big annual Vette/Chevy show here in Phoenix put on by the Desert Corvette Association. http://www.corvette-paradise.com/SHCS.html http://www.corvette-paradise.com/SHCSCLASSES.html
It's $25.00 to enter, and I think a lot of trophies I won't win. No drags or autocross associated with this one though.

I HAVE A 79 THAT ONLY HAS A FEW MILES ON IT AND I HAVE ALWAYS ENTERED IN THE CONCOURS PREPARED CLASS...JUDGING IS HELD TO THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF CLEANLINESS ON ALL ASPECTS OF THE VEHICLE I TRAILER IT........I HAVE ENTERED MY 94 THAT I DRIVE IN STREET SHOW AND WASH & SHOW WHICH ARE BASICALLY THE SAME CLASS..DESIGNED FOR THOSE WHO DRIVE THEIR VEHICLES AND NOT FORCE THEM TO COMPETE WITH THE TRAILER QUEENS....RACE PREPARED IS JUST THAT,VEHICLES DESIGNED FOR RACING AND NOT STREET DRIVEN......EXHIBITION IS USUALLY FOR VEHICLES NOT WISHING TO BE JUDGED BUT JUST ENTERED INTO THE SHOW ONLY AS A PARTICIPANT. OFTEN TIMES CLUB MEMBERS OF THE HOSTING SHOW WILL PLACE THEIR VEHICLES IN THE SHOW JUST FOR A SHOW OF NUMBERS.......MODIFIED AND CUSTOM ARE USUALLY THE SAME. DIFFERENT SHOWS JUST USE DIFFERENT TERMS TO MEAN THE SAME THING. DEPENDING ON WHAT SANCTIONING CLUB IS HOSTING THE SHOW AND GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BODY MODS OR SLIGHT ENGINE MODS(ADDED BLOWER ETC OR VARIOUS CHROME PIECES).....I HAVE BEEN TO SHOWS WHERE MODIFIED WAS FOR ENGINE MODS AND CUSTOM WAS FOR BODY MODS...WHEN ENTERING A SHOW ALWAYS CALL THE CONTACT PERSON AS SOME SHOWS WILL ALLOW UP THREE BODY OR ENGINE CHANGES BEFORE YOU ARE BUMPED UP INTO A DIFFERENT CLASS....THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN ANY SHOW IS TO HAVE FUN, ENJOY THE CORVETTE AND THE PEOPLE. GOODLUCK :flag

Cool  I'd love to see some pics. You could probably even answer some questions about where things were suppose to go on and what's missing from my '79.
