What are you best tips for prepping a dash panel prior to spray dyeing?
What will remove the silicones and oils without softening the vinyl? I gave a quick wipedown with some thinner ... but that didn't do the trick. I clearly still have some issues and will have to start over.
Re: Tips for Panel Prep before Spray Dye (Skipple)
Go to your local PPG paint dealer ,tell him what you are doing. They have a cleaner just for painting the interior parts. Then clean once, let dry, do it again and again then paint in very light caots. It may take 3 - 5 coats for good coverage and color.

Yepp you must spray very thin layers ore else its gonna look like crap, how meny times you clean it before paint its still gonna look bad if you put a thick layer on
good luck! and post some pics of the finished result! :) :)

Not sure if you need it but there is a prep spray that you apply first then go over it with the 'dye' paint. Think I did like 3 coats of the dye for my vinyl parts and 2 for the hard plastic ones. I was pretty happy with mine but it is paint and it will stick to stuff if your car is left in the sun, I left my passenger seat against the upper dash in the sun for an hour or so and the dye stuck to the seat. :(
