10-year owner, first time poster
Many thanks to those who have contributed. I have learned a lot in the last couple of days of lurking. Hopefully, I'll be able to chip in as well!

In the meantime, I'll tell you it's Corvette Bronze with Rally wheels. It wasn't my first choice in color, but when buying a 24-year-old (now 34-year-old) collectible at a fair price, you can't be too choosy.

Here it is in 1994 when I bought it in Georgia
http://www.cardomain.com/id/burdizzo

It hasn't change much cosmetically. It still has the same paint because I have put most of my effort elsewhere and haven't had a lot of money the last couple of years for cosmetics. I mainly bought it to drive anyway.
When I bought it, it was in need of a little TLC (Surprise, suprise). The first thing I did was get an alleged set of SS cailpers put on it. I say alleged because I have had to send three of them back to the supplier for warranty work. When I send them back for warranty work, the vendor "repairs" them by giving me a $40/caliper upgrade and then sends them back to me COD. So much for warranty. If anyone has thoughts of dealing with Florida Calipers, I would advise against it. Enough vendor bashing.
The motor was fairly strong, but was running rough. A pull of a valve covers found a collapsed lifter, and I replaced all of them.
I replaced all the bushings in the front end which tightend it up nicely. All of the PS components have been replaced with the exception of the cylinder.
I put on a set of radial tires, and replaced the rusted exhaust system.
The carpet has been replaced and a Blaupunkt radio installed.
The A/C is intact and functions, but I have yet to track down a freon leak.
Last winter I finally got tired of fooling around with points and switched to a Pertronix Ignition. Why I watied so long, I will never know. That is the best money I spent so far.
Right now I have the center console pulled out and have been refurbishing the A/C controller. Little did I know one reason why it glowed so dimly was because it had the wrong bulb in it. Amazing how much brighter a 7v bulb is over a 12v bulb.
I also bought a used speedo from ebay last week. The needle was broken off, and I am going to canibalized it to fix the broken odometer in my car.
The seatbelts are my next big project. As long as I am the only passenger in the car, it's fine, but lately I have gotten a girlfriend who likes going with me. The passenger belts are scary, and I would hate for someone to get hurt. The buckle is corroded, and it looks like someone brazed on it once upon a time. The latch is tempermental. Not to mention, all the webbing is frayed anyway. Has anyone tried to find seatbelt hardware for a '70? I found it next to impossible. These were the old style lap belts with the nipple for the shoulder belt, no retractors, and adjustment at the buckle. Damn near impossible to find. However, I put together a solution I think will work. I found a set of '72 belts on ebay with good buckles and latches ($85). The retractors were junk. Next, I bought a pair of retractors with webbing from Andover ($100). The retractors are supposed to be a direct fit for the '72. I am going to take my hardware and new retractors down to Ssnake-Oyl at the Houston Corvette show next weekend, and see if they can stitch the ebay buckles on my new webbing. It won't be NCRS, but it'll look close to original and be functional and better than those old death straps. I'll post pics of that project if I get time.
This car still needs a lot of work, but is pretty strong and road worthy. A lot of fun for a second car. I got it in '94 for $5800. I thought it was a good deal at the time. When I first started looking to buy a Vette, I almost jump on a '75 Vertte, but passed it up. When I found this one, I wasn't sure if I'd like a bumper vette. Now, I can't imagine having anything else. i have been thinking of getting a second one and making it a little racier. If anyone knows of good deals on bumper vette project cars (pref 4-speed), let me know.
