Well I got myself a new job, Homeboy Depot called today and said I pass my background check and drug test
It won't be what I am used to but it should be enough for my wife and I to get by on until she receives her bachelors in marketing and business in December... The only downside is I can't spend a whole lot on the vette.
It seems like a really great company to work for, I hope I am right. I'll be in the custom kitchens and cabinets section.
Just had an idea...guess I'll be getting a discount on all those tools I still don't have...works out well since I really like the Husky brand (not a big fan of craftsman)
Hate to bust your bubble but Home Depot does not give employee discounts. My wife worked there a few years ago and I was drooling over getting a discount only to find this out. Congratulations!
That is awesome. I have been on terminal leave from the Navy for a month now and haven't found anything up here in WA. I still have a month of leave to go and that means a few more paychecks.
Congrats on Home Depot. Looks like a cool place to work.
I finished up in Everett, WA on the David R Ray...
factoid...WA state has the highest unemployment PAY of any other state..at least it did when I was finishing up..never filed for it though..Had a job right away thanks to a roommate
Congrats on the new job. That certainly didn't take you long.
I know people like to hammer on Home Depot, but, I have a couple of friends who were able to get into their management program and they are both quite happy and seem to be doing OK financially. You certainly could do worse.
Do more than they ask you to do, volunteer to do what no one else wants to do, keep a positive attitude and you'll be running the place. THEN, you can buy whatever you're Corvette heart desires!!
Good deal. I thought you were a certified wrench though!?
Im going to be changing jobs in the very near future too. Already polishing the resume. Company is basically shutting down the US facility and moving everything to Mother China. Im in Applications/Sales and only 50% will stay on board.
As "Wringing It" states - the corporate world sux!!
