Default Head Gaskets??

I just got my heads back and in preparation for putting them on, I was looking for suggestions for head gaskets. I have a set of vortec's going on a 383. The pistons are about 0.10 in the hole (must confirm). Any gaskets better than others? Thanks

If you want ultra trick gaskets that seal as well as a good set of copper gaskets cut to fit your application give cometic gasket a call www.cometic.com You can specify bore size and thickness. They are a multilayer stainless steel with the top and bottom parts of the sandwhich covered in a viton rubber for sealing. So if you wanted .035 or .040 quench height from a .010 in the hole piston you could tell them to send you a gasket that is .025 or .030 thick with a bore of 4.040 and they could produce it in about a week including the shipping time.

I was very happy with the gaskets they cut me for my big block.

But if you don't need ultra trick gaskets, check out the Felpro section in the summit or jegs catalog, the only limitation there is they don't offer every size under the sun.

Either choice will not require retorqueing, just a matter of prefrence and money. Cometic BBC gaskets run about $90 each.
