I had my bottle inside under the rear deck just behind the passengers seat, The line led down the center consel through the firewall to the engine compartment. The bottle must be vented to the outside. It was easy to reach behind the passengers seat and open the bottle valve, arm the system and I was ready.

Rear deck behind the passengers seat. Vent it outside as mentioned above and get a bottle blanket to cut down on false safety releases. Even the NOS manual recommends this for the Corvette.
