It looks prety cool, They can spray on a finish that looks like chrome but it is much cheaper. A place in oregon quoted me $125 to do my factory style sidepipe covers. That is compared to $700 each for real chrome!
I am all set to ship them off so if you've used them now's the time to speak up!

Re: Anyone use Cosmichrome? (427V8)
Looks good, but will it hold up to the heat of the side pipes? If it's a paint tpe product as described at their site, how easily will it chip or peel?
What kind of pipe are you running under the covers Keith.
I'm sure it can be painted, it's just a fancy paint after all. But I'll ask them when I call them today.
The surface of the fiberglass covers never get hot at all, should be no prob as far as heat goes.
I hope it's fairly durable. At least it won't rust I guess
I'm running stock style mufflers on the street and 3"id, 3.5"od straight through's on the track. I want to convert the straight throughs to JCL's, someday.
they do have a calculator but be carefull! I put on the dims for my covers and it came out to $1400! :eek
Then I switched the length and width and I got $120 !
There is also a place in Virginia called VMC. ( 800-711-8464 )
It sounds like they do higher quality work ( or at least say they do ) and apear to be a bit more $$
It sure is hard to tell who to go to.
The lower initial price, or the honest it's gonna cost $$$

I do spray chrome here in Sacramento Ca. It is a great process when used in the correct manner. It is as or more durable than your standard paint. It can be made to look like any color. We do lots of parts for all types of corvettes. Intact we just got done chroming a whole corvette in a jet black chrome.
for more info you can check out our web site at sacchromepaint.net or like us on face book.

Sorry you had that experience. I have been doing spray chrome for around 6 years and have used everything out there. The only one that truly works is cosmichrome. Maybe you were not applying it properly. I am not trying to bring up old threads either.
