been shopping for headers for my 78 and summit has the dynomax ceramic Coated for 229.95 and the hooker super comp are 329 plus 180 extra for the coating.
Is there that much difference in the hookers and dynomax?
No. They are both very good.
Walker, an exhaust co. got beat in Hot Rod's first muffler test. They bought the winner & formed Dynomax. Since then they win w/ Dynomax.
Dynomax Cerma Coat Corvette headers flow much better than is commonly known. Have been rec. since on the forum & many on the forum have them now.
Just installed mine 2 weeks ago. Went in like a breeze, although the hooker pipes I bought to go behind them were a pita and did not bolt up well to the dynomax headers. May have bolted up to the hookers better though, who knows. added hooker areomax mufflers and took to shop and had all welded up. Pretty pleased with the way it all turned out. :chevy
thanks everybody, i just ordered the headeers from summit and the chambered exhaust kit from mid america. i have heard a lot of good thing about the chambered exhaust and i like the sidepipe sound. :steering:
I've found Jeg's to have the best price on parts that are not Corvette "specific", like engine parts, radiators, ignition
systems, mufflers, headers etc. You might want to check
them out before you buy from a Corvette specialty house
like Mid America.
