Need help as a new do-it-youselfer...what's the best way to disengage the upper and lower ball joints from the steering knuckle?
Does the "pickle fork" work? Do you beat on it or pry with it?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance as always!
I would recommend you watch the Van Steel suspension video. It shows the disassembly and reassembly of the front and rear C3 suspension. Money well spent. Answers lots of questions and gives many helpful tips.

If you're getting rid of the balljoints anyway, I don't see anything wrong with a pickfork (unless you smash the hell out of somethign else). Myself, I used a 2-jaw puller and it was very easy, and didn't cause any damage to anything. If the joints didn't have almost 80k on the I could've reused them! Not that bad of a job, just take your time, be careful with the spring (no compressor usually needed, chain for extra safety.) Lots of posts on this if you search, hope I've helped get ya started.
