Valve Cover Paint
On the L-82 valve covers, couldn't one just paint the whole thing black and then run the top through a belt sander a couple of times to take the paint off of the ridges? I got to looking at them the other day and it appears this is how they did it at the factory.

Personally, I wouldn't use a belt sander but do it by hand.
Then you can go over it with "0000" steel wool for polishing.
I've been successful with spray-on engine enamel but I like Burners suggestion better. :yesnod:
