Driving too slow ?

I have gone thru 2 sets of plugs in 4 months..all carboned up. What should rpm shift points be. Driving is rural with some city. no highway..L-48 4 speed 3:36 gears. i drive 12 miles each way for work..many cops along route :mad

Sounds like you need to shift between 2500-3000 rpm.

Also, you should be keeping it in 3rd gear longer.

What heat range plugs are you using? Too cold a range will cause them to foul (carbon) very easily.

Shift points won't make any difference.
