Got my Differential completely rebuilt and refurbished by Vansteel, looks great! Darn near brought tears to my eyes when I opened the box.
Getting ready to add the fluids, was wondering if I can lay the differential on its side and add both bottles (23 oz each) and the bottle of additive (4 oz) for ease, or if there's a risk of overfilling? Or do I need to add in the normal upright position?
VanSteel re-newed the differential for my 82.Those 23 oz.bottles just don't add up to two quarts.I stood rear end on pinion end frame mount with fill plug up and put in one 23oz bottle then 4oz additive then added the second 23oz bottle. After installing rear end in car and back on the floor at ride height it took another 19oz to fill to proper level.82 model takes 69 oz to fill. :smash:  :hurray:
Thanks for the tip. I suppose I could do the same, the add to final level on the work bench to make it somewhat easier. Keeping the Differential at the proper alignment for the final fill.
