I was just curious about what kind of numbers the rest of us on the forum are getting out of their XE262 combos. Post your numbers and combo here.

I am running Trick Flow 23 Degree Heads
Edlebrock Performer Intake
Holley 670 Street Avenger Carb
Comp Cams 1.52 Rockers
Shorty Headers with 2 1/2" exhaust Stock Style Mufflers

253 HP
300 TQ

I don't know what the HP numbers are but it runs consistent 8 flats with a best of 7.991 @ 85 -87 mph in the eighth. That's a mid 12 quarter. combo is:
383, SportsmanII's, Perfomer RPM, Q-Jet, gapless rings, 9.2:1 compression, Hooker sidepipes, Accel 300+ ignition and of course XE262 hyd flat tappet.

Those numbers seem kinda low to me Eddie. I'm thinking you should have at least another 30-60 hp.

:iagree: I am helping another forum member put together a similar motor with AFR 180 heads. We are hoping for around 380 to 400 at the flywheel when tuned correctly.

Any ideas where I should look to find some of the lost power. I feel like my carb may be some of the problem. It does have a small stumble when you just touch the gas.

Eddie 70... Just to make you feel better....
229rwhp @ 5000rpm
277rwtq @ 3800 rpm

327 bored .30 over (331cid). 10 to 1 comp, hyper. pistons, stock double hump heads 2.02/1.60 valves. Stock intake/ 2" exhaust manifolds into 2.5" ehaust/4spd.

From what I gather, this is close to what the "L79" would make in stock trim. Likely need headers/porting/intake to get me to 250+rwhp range.
