I'm thinking of mounting the Amp onto a black carpeted piece of plywood which will sit on the rear deck and go up againt the rear wall. This way the plywood takes the weight of the Amp and not the fiberglass wall. I need to then screw or bolt the plywood mount to the rear wall to solidly mount it.
For those that have mounted AMPs on the rear walls of the cargo area, what type of fasteners have you used?
How did you avoid the gas tank?
Let me know what you guys have done. Im getting spring fever and am acquiring parts for some upgrades.
Re: Rear wall Amp mounting- What fasteners? (MN-Brent)
I used a Bolt with washer but you'll need a hand inside and out.
The washer on both sides will eliminate stress and spread it over a wider area so as not to crack the fiberglass over time

Armstrong
Ive got the 6x9 same set-up you have going here with them mounted in those same custom corner boxes.
Im running a Sony 54W x 4 CD player with no amp for the rear 6x9s. My problem is I have ZERO bass coming from them. I have had way more bass from the exact same (no amp) set-up in my old 86 IROC.
Did the Amp alone make a huge difference in your bass coming from the 6x9s?
Im really thinking about the Kenwood WooX or InfinityBasslink powered sub. I dont want to blow the windows off , but I need some bass so it sounds at least normal.

The Bass from my 6x9's is really good but i have the amp run to the 2 rear 6x9's and to 2 Clarion pro audio's up in the dash. I don't see why your not getting any bass from your 6x9's unless your drowning them out with the speakers that you do have the amp hooked to.
Or have you hooked up the amp yet???
I did install a removable Bazooka tube in mine that can be removed in about 2 min for better bass.
The amp did make a difference but you'll probably want more than the 6x9's will deliver :yesnod:

if you want to secure your amp to the glass in a secure way so you don't get killed by a flying amp in case of an accident I suggest you get some nutplates, drill holes in the rear and rivet the nutplates on the outside and then bolt the amp on them.
