Side pipes on a '79
I know that there have been SEVERAL threads on sidepipe, but I rarely start a thread, so I'd like some good info. Presently, the car is still in the garage after several months of frame detailing and suspension upgrade. I have brand new Dynomax ceramic coated headers and the M.A.D. 2.5" dual exhaust that only has about 12,000 miles on it with Flowmaster 40's. It sounded pretty darn mean hooked up to the ram's horn manifolds. I've never intended to get side exhaust, but I think it would set the car off with all of the other stuff I've done. Here are my questions: Does anyone have the Dynomax ceramic coated side pipe and headers? How is the fit? How loud are they. I have overdrive, so I plan to drive the car long distances-but not if it "drones" and drives me nuts. Any advice is greatly appreciated. BTW- I only plan on doing it if I go with the fat side pipe with no heat shield.
