Default Booked Carlisle Today

Just a reminder that hotel rooms in Carlisle will be getting pretty scarce soon. If you plan to go get into reservation mode soon! The dates are August 27, 28, and 29 (Friday to Sunday).

The Wife and I usually spend a week in the USA such as Virginia Beach and last year Atlantic City and then head back north through Carlisle and home. That is a fun trip/vacation for us. But I must say the drive through Philadelphia last August from Atlantic City to Carlisle was one of the scariest rides I have ever experienced. Tail-gating, speeding, no emergency/pull-off zones, no signals on lane changes, bad highway markings, construction and the like. I did have a change of underwear with me....

Welcome to the many "East Coast Speedways" :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: Sounds like I-95 between Baltimore and Philadelphia :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

I always re-book one year in advance at the same Super 8 that I've been over 5 years now on Rt. 11 just north of I-81 & Rt. 11 in front of the super large Roadway trucking terminal. It is 95% Corvettes there the whole weekend :yesnod: May be some of here can get together for dinner like several of us did a few years ago at Hoss's Steak House. There was TNT, Mike's69, Joe(69er),Chris, Juliet and others-was a great time. Hope to do it again!!!

Wow! That's the old Forum people/crowd. That would be fun. I am even thinking of doing it with the 1967 this year. I have never taken a Corvette that far south from Ontario. How are the NY and PA Police if you keep it at 65mph? Do they target Corvettes? I don't need that aggravation....

*Edit*-I have booked Holiday Inn - Harrisburg - Carlisle (1450 Harrisburg Pike). Is that far from where you will be?

BTW, where is Juliet? She has not posted for ages on her 1970. Her C3 heater core replacement document is a legend over at C3 FAQs. I lost contact, or she with us, when she bought a C4. She was devoted to NCRS and I believe she met their judging standards for C3s. And is a judge. My memory fails after that. Juliet, say Hello and give us an update on your Corvette activities!

I usually book up near the Hershery area. Drop the wife and kid off at the park in the morning and I head off to a day at Carlisle.

Still don't have the '75 modified for 3 people ;) soI guess I'll have to drive the SUV..... no fun!

Welcome to my daily drive! I drive a hour west to Mechanicsburg(right next to Carlisle) every morning on I-81. Its not a matter of "if" you will die on 81, it's a question of "when." All of Harrisburg is under construction now, so if you are coming from the East on 81 to Carlisle this year, you'll get a taste of what I do every morning. If you are coming west, well, they just took the speed limit back down to 55 because there were like 10 deaths there in a two month period. It's like Death Race 2000 in there.

Please be careful coming to this area, if at all possible, you should take route 22, or the turnpike. Stay off 81 if you want to live :)

I'll be at the show this year again(even though last year I swore I wasn't going back.) I'll be staying at my house, no room service but I'm marrying the manager :)
