Default Pulled the L-48.....

I pulled out my old L-48 and I'm getting ready to drop in my new 383 from AR Racing. The engine pull went very smooth, quick and easy. I'm working on cleaning up the engine bay now, any ideas on how to cleanup all the years of grease and grime  . I have pics, but no webspace, but I can e-mail them if someone can post them. I'll keep you guys updated on the project

Degrease it if you can. My engine bay wasn't that bad, but I'll tell you how I cleaned it anyway...

I sat down in there with a bag of baby wipes and just cleaned everything in site and it came out great. Bring some beverages with you because it can be difficult to get in & out.

After cleaning it up, I taped off the compartment and painted as much as possible a semi-flat black (between satin and flat). Came out pretty nice.

It is also a great time to replace your vacuum lines and any wiring harnesses too.

Can you rent and have space/drain to use a steam cleaner ?
Good luck with your AR mill but I thought you posted to do just a cam change?

I did a cam in my original motor about 2 years ago. I had a posted about changing to solid roller in my AR motor, but I'm gonna hold off on that for now

Cool! I heard those 383 wedge engines were/are great! Do you have the magnum version with the 440 heads? Nice to see folks going to a big block, although a Mopar in a Vette is kinda strange :D
