My dads been longing for a Mid Year since he handed the 79 to me long time ago. He's couple years from retiring and he thought it would be nice to finally make dreams come true and buy a mid year. He ended up buying a 63 convertible, which was first offered to me, but I didn't like it that much 'cause it's not a coupe. Car's seen a complete frame off resto 7 years ago, and it's been customized quite alot. My dad is looking to turn it back more into stock look, but will make it handle and brake better than the average 63 ;) It already has some good stuff in it like the Autometer gauges, CD, Disc brakes in front and brand new LT1 engine!
Here's few shots of how the car looks now:
And here's two quick photochops of how it could look after some work:
Thanks, hopefully we can make the car look like the photochopped ones, some of the parts are hard to find... I will definately driving the 79, I'm pretty sure I can find people to drive the 75 too  My kid brother likes the 75 alot, he's taking it to Pori this year, I'm driving the 79 and Dad will drive the 63.
Well you hinted at it and now you've done it! Your Father will enjoy that car very much! If you need help with parts, let me know. Over the last year I have found several good sources.
Getting the headlights back to stock really did the trick!
And ofcourse the TT2
If I ever get a cromebumper it will be a midyear vert :yesnod:
My dad doesn't really like too much about the custom headlights, but the price was right on the car, so he's left with some money to get the stock light back on! :D

Thanks Paul, your guidance will be highly appreciated, my dad and I are both C2 rookies, it's a whole new ball game now  I posted a list of parts we need on the C2 parts for sale/wanted section.
Jay that car will look great if you can get it closer to the photochops :yesnod: . You guys must have a great looking garage over there by now :D
Thanks, I've been going browsing loads of classifieds to locate the parts we need. We also finished the carage during the Christmas, it turned out nicely, it's only two car carage!!! The 63 will stay with previous owner 'till the snow melts, but we'll have to think something for the next winter, maybe we should start pileing the cars
thats gone to look good when you getit back to the photoshopped pics,i like the guages,is it a newer injected lt-1 and is he gone to leave it in there?

Yeah, the engine is the new LT1, transmission is Turbo400. He's propably gonna leave it there, but will add a Paxton supercharger on it... :D
Back to bumbers and headlights  , but TTII :nonod: go with some vintage looking ones like the Daiseys (think that is what they are called.)
Thanks, I just slapped the TTII's on to get some idea how they would look. If we decide to use TTII's on this car, they will have dark grey spokes, like Paul67 has. I also like the look of the billet ralley wheels!
That's really cool! Another Vette in the family is always good. I can't wait to see the "after" pictures but the car looks really nice already. It's funny, my Dad is looking for a mid year vert as well.
