I've been offered a good deal on used mufflers from Apple Racing but I haven't found anything on the net about them. So I wonder if there's people here using them and what you think about them and their sound?
Same person who sells the Apple mufflers sells a pair of used flowmasters but that might be a bit to loud for me, dont have any h- or x-pipe. I want a nice and loud sound, but not as loud as the flowmasters. Still want to be able to talk to the other person in the car while driving :)
Thankful for any opinions!
EDIT: My system now is 2", the mufflers I'm thinking about buying are 2,5". The engine is tuned but not too much. No headers.
Apple is a Swedish racing muffler manufacturer, they make good quality stuff from what I've heard of, many 1/4mile guys in Scandinavia are using them.
got any link to their stuff?? You swedes have quite a few companies that make nice custom parts, I gotta learn to read your language a bit better. Some stuff I can figure out but not all of it (then again, Finnish is even worse)

The Swedes really got some good stuff, they are well known for their talent. If I remember that Mustang in the Gone in 60secs was made by a young Swedish guy. Finnish is not that hard, I can teach you all the basics in few minutes :D

Apple is a really nice muffler,i was thinking of using them on my car,but i dont think the make a model that fits the Vette.. :smash:
Go with sidepipes

Oh yes . It's a shame no of that talent has landed on me :cry ;)
Did some measuring today and found that the flowmaster 40s he's selling would fit better. I will probably need to change to the original mufflers before inspection so it would be good if no or less modification was needed.
But it isn't possible to speak with the person next to you if you're running flowmaster 40s right? Love loud cars but there's got to be a limit :)

They are loud but not that loud, it is more of drone and that is what gets people, have heard an h-pipe really helps quiet them down for cruising and I will be going that route or x-pipe.
Re: Apple Racing mufflers? Opinions? (BB wowbagger)
Go with sidepipes
Would love that, but sidepipes cost $$$...
Now I can go from a silent vette to a loud vette for about 100$.
I photochopped on some sidepipes on my car and they make it look a lot better but it's to much money for me right now.

Groovyjay,
Kiki!! If only this is true. I would love to learn Finnish. Got a bunch of relatives over there and can't understand a word. Some in Sweden too, but they all speak English.
