Anyone familiar with CorvetteSpecialists located in the Alexandria, Virginia area? Looking to get some windshield frame welding done and looking for a shop other than Tonys. Anyone? thx.
I just moved to Hampton and i hate to say it, but i still don't know my way around. I don't know anybody that could do the work, however, if you have access to a mig welder i could do it for you. I just got done doing my bird cage around the windshield and replaced quite a bit of metal. I haven't put it all back together and you are more than welcome to come check out the work before hand. All i need is a mig welder. :smash:
I know of two shops in Maryland. Corvette Specialties of MD. talk to Brian. There is also a guy in Rosedale that is by far the most reasonable. His shop looks like something from the Munsters but appearances can be deceiving.
The name of his shop is Corvette Haven and his name is Tom.
Sorry I do not have their numbers handy but the area code is 410 for info.
Again, why not Tony? Did u have to wait too long to get your car in the shop?
After going to Tony and describing what I needed to have done he essentially blew me off. First suggestion was to sell the car and get another...and this for the rusted out top rt hand portion of the ws frame! Then he said it would be $2800 but didn't know if he'd get to it any time soon. I know he has a great rep but unfortunately his customer relations at that point just turned me off. I'm sure if it'd been a '63 or '67 he'd bent over backward. Just shook my head and left.
