Hi, can I get some feedback on what my 69coupe might be worth. I am going to sell it and want to ask a fair price. The eng. is an "Engine factory" 350/390 with about 300 mi. on it. The trans is a "Monster th400" with less than 100 mi. on it. ac. system has recently been redone from condensor to blower. I will post pics. if someone tells me how. Thanks.
By "Engine Factory" I assume that is a vendor or engine builder of some sort and not a "factory engine"...correct? New driveline helps to boost value, but IMHO frame/body condition is more important when looking at a 'vette of this age...when you get the pics up we would all be able to give you a better idea.
:withstupid: That's about right, but it does assume there's no rust. The worst places for secret car cancer in a vette is in the pockets at the bottom of the kickups, just in front of the tires, and in the windshield frame and supports.
Nice looking car. I've also got the '69 red interior & I'm suprised how good it looks with silver paint.
[QUOTE]Is the radiator all rusted? Whats the brown stuff in front of fan?
I assure you it's not rust, lol. the camera didn't photograph the rad. very well for some reason but what you are seeing is the copper color of a new 5 core hd. radiator. There is not a spot of rust on this vette.
Vette is also on my web site http://callahantx.tripod.com/

OK, that explains it. After looking at the rest of the pics the Vette looks really good. I would have to say it's at the least worth 15k. You should compare it to prices on ebay and on our C3s for sale section. Good luck with the sale.
That's a very pretty Vette- are you sure you want to sell it????
I'm pretty sure I want to sell it but hesitant because I have a lot more $$ in it than I will ever get back out of it. When I do occasionally drive the Vette the first comment by other people is "do you enter it in shows".
i respect everyones opinion on what they think it's worth but I honestly think it's worth more than 15k. especially after researching vette classifieds and web sites.
Again, thanks to everyone for the input.
If by "vette classifieds and web sites" you mean Corvette Trader or virtually any of the online sites, you're getting a fairly skewed idea of value from those places. In any given issue of Corvette Trader, for instance, 95% or more of the cars in there are priced sky hight IMHO--those people are hoping for somebody who HAS to have the car or doesn't know what vettes are worth. Many if not most are dealers who always have their cars priced way above market value, to give them wiggle room when someone dickers. A
'69 small block coupe without a numbers matching drivetrain is simply not worth much more than $15K IMHO, no matter how nice it is.
But heck, put it up for sale & see if you're right or we are. It's not like you paid for the advice. :steering:
IMHO, NADA is pretty darned high, too. I just ran my car, and the "average" retail for a '69 big block vert with air is about $29K--almost $12,000 more than I paid for my car less than two years ago. And my car is in excellent plus condition with 51K original miles.
If only!! Somebody wants to give me $29K for my car, it's theirs in a heartbeat.
NADA is only good for obtaining a bank loan on an older car...
Walt, do you still have the original engine/trans? Are those the original factory colors? If so, your car may also attract some NCRS oriented buyers.
Also, to just give you an idea, I found a pretty original '69 350/300, auto down the street from me 2 summers ago summer...I bugged the owner to see if it was for sale...he said sure! He wanted 18k for it...not sure about how serious he was on sellin' it...but I still see it in his driveway...
Not to say your car isn't worth anymore than 15k, but you may find that it takes a long time to get what your asking.
