wheel back spacing

wheel back spacing
I know stock back spacing is 4", the wheels I am looking to buy are 3 3/4". I am thinking this will be ok? because it should move my wheel out a 1/4" is my thinking correct on this? I have never bought wheels before and not positive the measurement is the way I think it is... :confused:

3 3/4 inch works fine.. The only information that the backspacing doesn't give you is if the wheel clears the calipers... So - if the wheel clears the calipers - 3 3/4 inch backspacing is just about the same as stock.. You are correct - it'll move the wheel 1/4 more to the outside.. 1/4 inch isn't noticable

Heres a link to a pic of the wheels I'm ordering on a c3, it has a little info segment and doesn't mention anything about a spacer. Sooo, I guess I'm gonna just hope....As I called around to a few places and no one had our bolt pattern in stock to do a test fit... American Racing makes a wheel that is a twin to these wheels. These are the wheels that I have, and mine fit with no need for spacers. I'm 99 percent sure yours will fit the same way.
