I just bought a set of '69 side pipes that I'm putting on my '75. Does someone have a diagram of the mounting of the pipe itself along the side? Chilton's doesn't show it. Anyone have a 69 assembly manual page they could scan? Or a good description would suffice.
I dont have a diagram, but did you look in either the assembly manual or maybe a parts book like Ecklers? Sometimes you can almost see how it goes together from them.
They have a bracket that comes down from the frame that the flange from the mufflers bolt to. There are some rubber gaskets in there as well. If you dont find something let me know and I will take some pictures for you of mine.
The only thing attaching the sidepipes (mufflers) to the car is the carriage bolt assembly at the rear.
There should be a slot in the frame rail in line with the rear of the door (about 3" long) that a carriage bolt slides into, onto the carraige bolt you have a round spacer, then a rubber grommet, this then passes through the bracket on the rear of the sidepipe, you then have another rubber grommet a washer and a nut.
That's it.

Thanks to Smokehouse, Nick and all. I was wondering if the "installation kit" was necessary, but it looks like I can fake it at my local hardware store.
