Two years and about 3k miles ago I replaced my window lift motor with the Auto Zone's finest rebuilt. The one with the "Lifetime Warranty". So it is no surprise it has quit. :smash: :smash: :smash:
I can get a new one for free  but this is little consolation considering how much of pain it is to get the thing in/out.
Lots of people sell rebuilds and the price differs widely. Anybody have any insights into which brand/seller is the best. Do they still make new ones?
are you absolutely sure that its the motor?
ive replaced my share of these and can tell you that on more than one occassion the new motor did not cure the problem...
if the operation is sluggish and slow, sometimes it is the inner workings going bad or things are gummed up and/or nasty...
the regulators, for example will act just like a dying motor...
and you dont EVEN want to buy those!
BTW...i have AZ motors in my car too and so far...no probs...about 1 yr now...
When I bought my 73 project car it came with later model doors plus the original doors. Out of four window motors not one would work, so I took them apart and all of the armatures were worn terribly and of course the brushes were shot. I took one to a local motor shop and he said they have had no luck rebulding them. I bought brand new AC Delco motors from The Last Detail for under a $100 each. Good Luck, Craig :seeya
