Default Acid porting?

Well does anyone know anything about this technique?
What acid should I use on aluminum?
How long do I have to wait? (Not looking to take away much material, just make the ports consistent)
Do you have any pictures of the results?
Thanks!

If you don't have good reason for it then pass. If you don't know what the "good reason" is then you don't have one.

I know what the good reason is! "Go ahead take my intake off! You'll just see stock ports" :)
I have done several searches and every time I end up getting told to buy a book for $50-100
I am not prepared to spend that much on a book for something that I might not even do.
Just trying to get a basic idea of what tools, products I need and possibly a very general cost.
Also why are you trying to deter me from performing this procedure? Is it dangerous, messy or simply a pain in the ars?

It is less effective and more expensive to acid port something than to hand port it. The only reason to acid port a head is to get around a rule that says no porting and you are trying to hide what you are doing. If that is the need you have than let me know and I can go into more details. Otherwise it is much easier and cheaper to just use sanding rolls and carbide cutters to port with.

I agree with Pete. It is to hide your work and it is not controlable. Acid attacks area's of high stress quicker then other areas. I have done acid dipping to reduce weight, it takes alot of time to eat a noticeable area plus the acid keeps getting deluted.
Useing burrs takes no time at all but be careful and don't get carried away
