Does anybody have any experience putting C4 seats
in a C3? My seats in my 82 are showing some wear
and I would like to go to a pair of C4 seats if they
would fit. Let me know your experiences!
I am at the very beginning of this new project; if I decide
to go ahead with it. I am torn with the idea of selling the
82 for a C4 or putting more money into the 82.
I have already sunk a ton of money in this vette and I would
still like to repaint it. I wil let you know how it all shakes
out!
I spent a lot to get a nice set of C-4 seats for my wifes car. Wish I hadn't. The seat and thigh support is so much better then the flat seats in her 76, but even with switching bases back and forth, my head is still too darn close to the t-top. I would rather have a nice set of late C-3's in her car.
bart, I put C4 seats in my 75 and I really like them. I had to use my 75 seat tracks and mount them to the C4 seats. I drilled new holes in the seat base about 1/2 in outside of the originals. This allowed me to bolt my old seat tracks to the seat with the exception to the bolt on the left rear of the seat, for which I used a short length if 1/8 in bar stock to span the difference. When you drill the new holes, make sure you stay within the medal tabs made into the seat base. I'm only 5'7", but my seats don't seem to be any higher than the originals, and they are so much more comfortable. I believe your newer seats may be slightly different from my 75, but with a little engineering, you can probably make them fit. Hershey :chevy
