has anyone here aver changed a power antenna? Accessorie shop said it was a very difficult and costly job. said he would have to drop exhaust, and inner fender! is this true? Got new cd player and radio, but now no power antenna. thanks, JIM
I just had County Corvette in west chester, pa put a new power antenna in my 79. I think they do it all from the back of the wheel well. Anyway they DID NOT drop my exhaust or inner fender well? They did have to route the new antenna cable up to the new radio in my car. Excellant workmenship.
Don't let Bubba touch your antenna man....don't do it! Never heard of dropping exhaust to change antenna mast? But, too..you used to not here of Cadillac have to remove the top half of the engine to change out a starter!
Got news for that guy's last post! We changed the power antenna in my 78 this past winter and believe me you do have to drop exhaust! Even says so in the Chiltons book.Once its dropped out of the way its not to bad.

I did my 78 and while it required patience...was not necessarily difficult. Yes, loosened the exhaust but still not a problem. Did not have to loosen the fender once muffler is out of the way.
