Just got myself a DV camera and as an inaugural project with it I figured there was no better subject than a nice C3 Corvette. Feast your eyes on this: http://www.corvettefaq.com/vids/Chris.mov (its 11 megs so be prepared). Also you may need to download quicktime to view (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/) if you are having problems with it.
In the future it would be good to do similar videos of other folks' C3 Vettes in the Bay Area. Very fun.

It worked fine for me. Very nice production there Terry  That's a nice Vette w/ some  mods. How long did it take to dub the music & put in the text?
Hey Les, it took about 20 minutes to make that. I had about 2.5 minutes of DV video. I brought it into my Mac Powerbook via Firewire connection. iMovie (comes with OS X) makes very quick work of the text. The audio was an MP3 I already had on the computer. Another few seconds to bring that in. I'm sure you can do it all on the PC too, but I wouldn't want to. The mac makes it SO easy. I just got the Sharp DV camcorder 2 days ago. This was my first real movie with it. There is so much more to explore. :) I'll hafta make one up of your Vette one of these days Les!
Unfortunately the camera does not do the car justice when it comes to sound. It sounds wicked, but on the camera it sounds tinny. And Chris will be the first to bash himself over the exhaust leak that it currently has (which is exaggerated on the camera mic) :(
Terry,
20 minutes isn't bad at all! As for sound, I don't think I've heard accurate reproduction from any home video cam yet- I had a buddy do a short vid of my Z28 & it had the same tinny sound. But it's still well worth doing....& I may just take you up on your offer when spring comes for good- thanks! That'd be

Les, just contact me and we can hook up when warmer weather remains.
ST, thanks. :) Nice cruising car as the whole family can ride in it. :) Sorry about the quicktime download, but should make future installments in the video series much easier now ;)
