Steeroids tie rod length question.
I'm getting ready to align the steeroids and noticed that the overall length of one tie rod is longer than the other, even after I've centered the rack. Both rotors are aiming straight ahead. Is this normal? If not, what can I do to correct it.

Isn't the eng offset to the passenger side, could that be causing you to align the rack off?

I'll have to double check, but that sounds about right, be back in a bit.

Wow, one is like 4.5 turns longer than the other. Excessive? I double checked that the rack is centered.

Steve,
Just got on my crawler and contorted myself
Measuring on centers from the vertical joint at the spindle to the nut at the unit, I came up with these:
Passenger side is 17 1/8"
Driver side is 17 1/4" possibly 17 5/16"
My alignment is good, although I still have some binding to deal with.

Considering the age and build tolerances of our cars 4 turns wouldn't suprise me...

So we have an akerman affect build into our cars... just not in the steering arms?!?
I think thats what I'm hearing... One wheel can turn farther then the other?
