Default 1968 Factory Big Block question.....

Just wondering what type of intakes & carbs came on which Big Block engines ???

I know the 435hp was the Tri-Power
....and the 390hp was a single 4-barrel but was it Spreadbore or Squarebore ?

Which engines had the Holley single 4-barrel ??? <besides the L-88>

390 Hp had a Rochester Q-jet (spreadbore) #7028209 on an aluminum low profile dual plane intake. 400 hp had a tripower setup with 3 holley 2 barrel carbs same as 435 HP. L88 430HP had a single Holley 4 barrel square bore with aluminum high rise dual plane manifold (780 CFM I believe). That's all the big blocks for Corvette in '68.

The 65 and 66 BB Vettes w/ 425-450 hp used a 4150 Holley with vacuum secondaries. This carb was essentially the 780cfm. The L88's and ZL1's used an 850cfm Holley. The 71 LS6 used a vacuum secondary 4150 too, probably the basically the same 780 used for the LT1 and the Camaro 302 Z28.

That was for a 4 spd. A/T #7028216 on the 390 hp BB.

Huh....I forgot about the Z/28's so it seems that the Holley's were on the hi-po models. What about the transitorized ignition stuff ?!?
