Custom Stingray Emblem

My nephew found this on a car domain page and contacted the maker about making one for him. I want one too, and was wondering if anyone else wanted one? He told my nephew he could do two for about $25. If we can get him to do a bunch of them through a group purchase we could probably get a really reasonable price since he told my nephew that most of the cost was in reprogramming the code for the CNC.
I am going to get him to make me one in steel so that I can get it chromed.
If you want one reply here and my nephew will email him the link showing our interest. It wouldn't necessarily have to go on the gas filler door (valve covers, E-brake cover, dash, etc.)

Some Corvette history is helpful to ID a Stingray.
In 63, the new smaller body & chassis w/ I.R.S. was called a Sting Ray. When the body was redone in 68 at first called Sting Ray & then used Stingray emblems in 69. Emblems are for identification & some can not identify w/o the emblem. Seems some place far more importance on emblems than the factory ever did. The factory wanted to change the new car so that it could be identified as new at the time. Stingray is not an option or emblem, some are unmarked.
Chassis essentially same from 63-77, body essentially same 68-77 & interior essentially same from 68-77.
There can be no question that 68-77 are Stingrays.
Can be debated on 78-82. Many changes. Note that the 78- rear glass is reminiscent of the 63-67 coupe.
Stingray BB hood on 65-66, tail on 63-67 coupes, wings extended from roof 68-77 Stingrays.
I should have known someone would go there.
It really depends on who is doing the considering. Most purists believe that C2's are Sting Rays and that only 1969 thru 1976 are Stingrays. However I am not a purist. I remember the late 70's and early 80's and back then the latter C3's were considered Stingrays by most people that I knew. I think that for the general public Corvette and Stingray are tied togrther no matter what year.
Consider this; if you put a set of C3 Stingray Emblems on a C5 how many people would not see it as abnormal? A Corvette enthusiast would know it didn't come from Chevy that way, but I think a majority of the General Public wouldn't know the difference and probably ask "What year is that Stingray?"

If they are about 4-5" across, that would be pretty nice!
Keep us advised please!

73sbvert, my nephew tells mey that the maker was planning on doing it in 16 gage stainless and "e-polished which is a chemical reaction that makes it look chrome and wont oxidize. they use e-polish in the medical feild alot for corrosion reasons. I also am having my nephew inquire about price. I will get back with you when I find out.
I also thought that it should be a little bigger. We are asking for 4.75" wing tip to wing tip.

Stingray2000 - Autocad 2000 and up
Stingray12 - Autocad version 12 and up
Other drafting programs may work, too ! ......If any of you guys need me to make custom *.dxf files for other CNC machine work - let me know. I'm an Autocad wizard <Architect by profession>
