Re: Calling all Black Corvette owners!!! (12stepvette)
I use a good carnuba wax and try to keep as many layers of wax on it that I can. If you can keep a good number of coats of wax on it, it will save the paint from minor scratches and swirl marks. Keep in mind, on or two coats are not enough. lou

I am also a new owner of a black car. I had the same question thanx for asking. One thing is certain though, black and silver are still the best looking cars. Have fun waxing.

I use maguire's show room glaze after touch up painting.
then I use the crystal clear method. turned out really good.
If you want more infor. contact detailingdude over in OT. he has a great process.
as to learning to use a buffer, I practiced on the T-Tops. They were not repainted when the corvette was repainted and it showed. after many hours of labor, It is very difficult to tell.
good luck

Re: Calling all Black Corvette owners!!! (12stepvette)
P21S car care products are astounding. One of the very few things I've ever bought that really lives up to it's claims. I have a red car and it looks like it was dipped in glass.
This a link to my 72 vette after a year long restoration. I got the paint for free and did all the prep work myself. I then paid a painter $100 to shoot it. The final product is amazing
It's an 82. BTW - Nice looking 81 YOU have .
