Chuck Harmon, Terry Rudy, Andy82, 1969-Vette-350(I think.. Geoff) have all driven mine...
I've driven Chuck's Z06, Terry's 77, and Andy's 82 before he sold it. All very nice cars. I'd like to drive Terry's again one of these days.
I'm perfectly happy to let other Corvette owners drive my car. Only my closest friends have been allowed to drive it otherwise, and my father and grandmother. Mechs too.
Re: Let anyone else drive the Vette? (Cali,68,L-79)
I've let my father drive my 81 once, he drove it with extreme experience, the last vett he drove was his 69 427 with factory fuel injection when he was 18 and in the army, other then that no, by girlfriend botthered me so much that i got her a 67' fastback stang and she forgot about it. :steering: :chevy
My husband takes our 1977 to car shows, and has won a lot of trophies. Our sons ages 24 & 26 are allowed to take it out, but show very little interest in it, same with my 2003 Thunderbird.

So far only my wife, my son and 74 Vert have driven my vette.
Eddie, the wife has only driven mine one time, and you got to drive it once; the Forum members are tied with family members. Wait, Violater drove my car, therefore Forum members are 2 to 1 family member.

I often let guys test drive my car. I do have an adjustable rev limiter and I have it turned down to 5600 to protect the motor. I am proud of my cars power, brakes and handleing. I let others enjoy it too.
I enjoy letting my son and his son go out cruising in it . He can drive it better then I can and lightly hazes the tires through the gears.

Everyone drives mine.[ 71 454 4speed sidepipes vert]. You have to steer it, shift it, FEEL it to apprieicate the machine. Not laying rubber, just feeling the power , road feel, response, everyone who has driven my vette, had stars in their eyes after the ride.
Re: Let anyone else drive the Vette? (Cali,68,L-79)
Not many people have asked. My brother has driven it a couple of times and my wife doesn't want to. I do have a couple of friends who I would let get behind the wheel if they wanted to.

Exactly....all my friends have driven my '69. Heck, I let me friend take it for the weekend, and he's also drag-raced it at the track.
I also let my neighbors take the '02 for a night for their honeymoon.
They're just cars, and if driving them gives my friends the same pleasure the cars give me, then that's great!
I would let my fiancee drive it but she can't reach the pedals with the fixed seats. She is 5'2" and I am 5' 11" and i still need to move the seats up just a little for me. I have one friend that I would prolly let drive, but he has never asked...Other than that, any forum member that had a fast vette could drive mine...I say that just because I don't want someone accidentally hit the gas to hard and spinning into a tree and hurting themself and the car.
