I am looking at the resin and fiberglass repair stuff on Ecklers website. Everything I look at has the statement below: These repair materials are not formulated to work on 1973 and later Corvettes with SMC panels
What can I use if I don't use resin?
:iagree: I have the catalog in front of me (got it last week) and here are the numbers for SMC panels:
Epoxy bonding adhesive: pn#27281 2 part mixture, 2 quart unit, $39.99
Resin (sheet molded formula): pn#10698 $29.99
Body filler (sheet molded formula); pn#10701 $17.99
When I got my 73 I had the same question. I e-mailed Ecklers tech and he said that 73 and up do have SMC panels but standard repair materials worked fine up to 1978. Just to be extra cautious I still used SMC resin made by Fiberglass Evercoat. This can be found at most body and paint supply stores and is an excellent product. Good Luck, Craig :seeya
