I installed my new Weiand Team G intake today, and on the intake manifold to head gasket I put some RVT silicone around the coolant passages, but only on the cylinder head side. My question is should I put some on the manifold side of the gasket also? I'd didn't think of it until after I installed the manifold, so I looked over the directions that came with the gaskets, but it was specific as to if I should use it on both sides. Any thoughts
Re: Quick question about intake manifold gaskets... (Cali,68,L-79)
Thanks Cali.....tommorow I might pop it back off and put some on the manifold side. It's no big deal, since I haven't even torqued the bolts to proper spec yet

MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING A SILICONE THAT IS OK WITH ALUMINUM!!!
The stuff that you get from the hardware store for sealing bathtubs and rain gutters will actually corode aluminum!! Use only a silicone sealant approved for automotive use. And only use a thin coat on both sides. Too much and it will ooze out and restrict flow or break off and plug up a radiator or heater core tube.
