The cable that Keisler sent me for my 5 speed conversion doesn't have a socket so that I can screw it on to the back of my speedometer - I don't see how this can work - the end is crimped on, so I can't use the socket from my old cable.
The cable does not screw into the speedo it snaps in, just guide the cable up to the back of the speedo and press it in until it snaps/clicks. There is a little metal tab at the bottom of the fitting that you pull down on to remove the cable. I assume you do not have the old cable so just follow the cable up to the speedo and you should be able to feel the tab I am talking about, you will never be able to see it unless you take the dash apart, def is hard to do it but it can be done without taking the whole dash apart.
They sent me the wrong cable too! On my '68 the cable screws in. Newer cars use a clip. I think that every part they sent was wrong, and many were never sent in the first place. It took weeks to get all the missing parts.
I don't know how they're going to stay in business if they don't get their ducks in order!
But at least I didn't have to cut up the car to install it :)

I stand corrected! What year did it switch from screw on to snap in? Mine is a 73.
I've got a 68 definitely should be a screw-in cable- sounds like they sent me the wrong cable.
I thought this was just me - every time I call they act like my car is some sort of special case. They also sent me the incorrect flywheel and driveshaft yoke... I had to replace starter and buy a conversion U-joint already to get their "bolt in" stuff to fit. It would sure be easier job if Keisler sent things right the first time - or sent the right stuff faster when they screw up...
