While replacing the center gauge cluster and radio, I shorted out one of the instrument panel light sockets. I replaced the fuse, but now I only have dash lights when I turn the **** to the far left (counter-clock-wise), position. This normally turns on the interior lights (which it still does). Any ideas out there?
Thank you.
Michael
if it is only one or two lights, make sure the socket is plugged all the way in and making a good connection. Alot of the bulbs only have a positive wire and require the socket to be grounded to the metal assembly before they will work.
Thanks, but they are all grounded and all work the same; only when the switch it turned to the "interior light" position. The dimmer switch was mentioned by madmikee. Can you tell me if you've had a simular problem?

:yesnod: similar anyway, In a 69 Chevelle I owned when I was 16 the car was to be used for it's motor as the frame was bent, but I drove it through the winter until I could scavenge the rest of the parts I needed to dump it into my Monte Carlo I had at the time. I went "snow banking" one too many times and a similar situation happened (Snowbanking is when you ram BIG AZZ Snow banks in parking lots with your car on purpose, remember I WAS 16:crazy: ), Went to the junkyard and found a 70 chevelle 4 door and used the switch outta that and it did the trick.
I can relate to snow-banking; been there, done that, got the shirt. Was it the headlight switch you replaced?
Thanks. P.S. have you tried "cow tipping"?
