Is there any difference in the fiberglass covers from Ecklers and Vanacor? Quality? Attachment?
I live just down the street from Ecklers but can probably save $30 or $40 by going with Vanacor. Since I'm spending over $10K in the next couple of years converting the '69 to a Prepared Autocross car every penny I save buys better components down the road.
Re: Fiberglass sidepipe covers Ecklers vs. Vanacor (reidry)
Does Ecklers and Vanacor each make their own covers? If not and their covers are the same, Ecklers should match Vanacors' price. Ecklers has for me on other identical items.
Re: Fiberglass sidepipe covers Ecklers vs. Vanacor (reidry)
Can't help you on who is best. I bought my replacers in the last run GM made in the 80's. Best I can tell [3rd owner] my '71 BB has always had sidepipes. I can say the car doesn't have a heat problem in the summer. The exhaust does not run under the seats. Keep your side pipes for more than sound and looks.
