Default power window problems

I am owner of my first vette, a 79. A couple of weeks ago my driver's side window suddenly decided to quit working in the down position. Passenger side still works fine. I did go into the console and switched the wiring plugs to see if the problem was in the switch. However, it still would not work. I need suggestions and instructions from any of you experienced vette people out there. Electrical stuff is my weakest area, so be explicit please. Thanks.

Is there any reaction( light flickers, voltmeter surges) when you hit the switch? Could be that the motor is gummed up and too high resistance, or it could be that the motor is just shot... Check the wiring to the motor too. Either way, the door panel's coming off.

Yep. It could be something as simple as the harness connector being dirty ,rusty or loose.

Many times the motor loses the ground (12V neg). The motor has two wires going to it, these are up and down (12V positive, both). The 12V negative is made through the metal frame of the motor. Check the ground, it's probably the problem.
