WAHOOOO... Fellows and Papis (3) are kicking GTS butt. CR5 in 4th overall and FIRST in GTS class. Unfortunately, the Ollies (4) were out early with trans issues... I have been watching since 10 AM this morning... I have a TV in the garage. Nothing like watching a Corvette kick butt while restoring my 1970! I think the C5R will dominate this year... AGAIN... THREE PEAT!!! I wonder what next year's paint scheme will look like? .... steady Ron... steady.... we have this one.... WAHOOOOOOOOOO
Re: AMERICAN LEMANS.... anyone else watching? (Eddie 70)
The C5R did come in first in the GTS class but overall... it was 4th. Now considering those friggin blazing fast AUDI R8 are in P1 .... 4th overall is just awesome. A lot of people don't realize, horsepower, weight and handling do play a big part, but reliability is most important. The C5R finished ... get this.... 22 laps ahead of its closest class competitor. Albeit there were only 6 competitors in the GTS class- including the other #4 C5R.
I love watching the Corvette racing crew... Corvette has been out of this type of racing far too long. Also, when I see Sebring... it reminds me of photos of Nassau when the fire breathing Grand Sports thundered down the track with those pesky little Cobras.... ;)
The next AMLS race is on JUNE 27th and CBS will televise the race... WAHOOO! Mark you schedules.... C5R is the one to beat!
ps.. anyone see the VIPER eat the tire wall? HOLY :cuss what a crash... driver walked away... but the car was carried out on a stretcher
Re: AMERICAN LEMANS.... anyone else watching? (Mr.Gearhead)
hi, I've been watching since 'forever'. Love it,but miss Andy Pilgrim allready.Let's not count our chickens before they hatch,Lamborgini may be fielding a GTS,there's that slow prototype car they let run in GTS(Saleen)and the 575 Ferreri(spelling ouch).Should be interesting. :steering:
Re: AMERICAN LEMANS.... anyone else watching? (blue427)
I would like it better if it was just each class racing by themselves, kinda hard to get excited when they show the vette that is in '1st' then he gets passed by all the cars in the faster classes.
Re: AMERICAN LEMANS.... anyone else watching? (Fevre)
sports car racing has always been like that.I think it makes it interesting.More people watch and attend because of varied intrests.150,000 people showed up, more money=more sucess=keeps sport strong. How many people would show up to see a bunch of Miatas race? :steering:

I watched off and on yesterday. When the weather here got bad, I came in and watched it until about 1 1/2 hours were left. I couldn't stay awake. Corvette won I guess?
It is hard to watch it after dark with what little lighting they have at the track.
